PHYS 4950: Advanced Research

Earn credit for hands-on research in a faculty lab.

What it is

Faculty-led research group including training in techniques of advanced research in physics and astronomy and application of these techniques to research projects of current importance. May be repeated for a maximum of three credit hours. This course may include a Signature Experience component.

How to enroll

  1. Find a research mentor — see Undergraduate Research for how.
  2. Agree on expectations for hours, deliverables, and grading with your mentor.
  3. Register with approval from your mentor and the Undergraduate Director.

Can I repeat it?

PHYS 4950 can be taken in multiple semesters and maximum of 3 credit hours total or at once.
